Belinda Levez is a former casino croupier who has worked for some of London’s top clubs including The Ritz, Sportsman, Palm Beach and Golden Nugget. She has also worked as a betting shop manager for bookmakers in the UK. In 1994 she
attended a creative writing course tutored by novelist Elizabeth Lord.
Initially Belinda contributed travel features to magazines. Following her
tutor’s advice to write about what you know, she began writing about
gambling. In 1995 her first book, Teach Yourself Successful Gambling was
published. Its success was followed by a series of Teach Yourself How to Win
books about gambling, in which she used her inside knowledge to give valuable
advice and tips to readers. Subjects covered were horse racing, poker, casino
games and card games. The Casino
Handbook was published in 2001. This book introduces readers to the inner
workings of the casino world. A look at the history of gambling and what goes
on behind the scenes is followed by detailed explanations of some of the most
popular games and the rules that govern them. Step-by-step photographic
sequences demystify roulette, blackjack, punto-banco, craps and poker. The
book also takes the reader around some of the best casinos in the world. From
the over-the-top opulence and extravagance of Las Vegas to the refined
serenity of London’s private clubs, and the laid-back ambience of resorts in
exotic destinations. In 2002 her
first electronic book, How to Win at Roulette was published. The history of
the game is followed by a detailed explanation of the rules and how to play.
She describes the common faults made by players that lose them so much money.
The book also features an insight into the way a casino works to help players
make better decisions. A thorough analysis of roulette shows how many of the
game’s variables can be eliminated. Based on her own experience of dealing
the game, readers are shown how to select dealers and track their spins to find
the winning number. Nowadays she mostly writes for the internet. The boom in online gaming has resulted in a high demand for her gambling features. She contributes to lots of websites. On her own site, Casinonet she shares her inside knowledge to help readers win. |
